Accommodation building at Monkey Island

Guests stay in the tranquil Temple building, which is removed from the hustle and bustle of the dining and bar areas. All rooms have a view of the river and gardens, and the suite and three of the bedrooms a private terrace or patio with river views.

We are delighted to announce that the first of our newly refurbished rooms are available. Monkey Island has undergone extensive work to its top floor rooms, following the renovation and repainting of the exterior of the Temple Building last Summer. All refurbished rooms include digital TV and ipod docking station, as well as new fixtures and furnishings.

The hotel has ten twin rooms, ten double rooms, three terrace rooms, a terrace suite, an executive king room, and the Wedgwood Suite.

The Wedgwood Suite

This glamorous grade I listed room is steeped in history, dating back to 1748 when it was built as part of the Temple as a fishing lodge, with original painted ceilings, paneled walls and wooden floor and an incredible 220 degree view over the gardens of Monkey Island and the River Thames.

The Wedgwood Suite houses a stunning super-king size four-poster bed. Adjoining is a dressing room with dressing table, full-length mirrors and extensive wardrobe space and an en-suite bathroom. All rooms have natural daylight and views over the gardens and river.
